Western European says China will overtake US. How?

China will not have to "take over" the U.S. All China would have to do is "call in" all the loans they have given the U.S. and when we can't pay they simply foreclose of us. Our president and Congress is currently debating on whether to raise the debt ceiling. In order to raise the debt ceiling you allow for more debt to be accrued. That usually means more borrowed money to support a government that can function within a budget. Where do you think the money is going to come from? Our current leaders haven't learned you can't spend your way out of debt. You have to cut spending. Our country is currently paying millions and millions of dollars each "month" on just the finance charges on loans our country has gotten. It is estimated that someone spent a million dollars a day from year "one" until now it would amount to only half of what our national debt currently is.
