To buy or not to buy, with or without registry?

If your going to buy a dog that is KC registered and can be registered under KC but are not going to breed the dog. Would it matter if it is registered or not under KC, because it is already KC registered because this breed of dog is a hunting dog that is just now being recognized by ALC and KC. I'm not going to hunt with it I just want an inside dog.
